Dead in Winter: Half of TS Without Power

New England was hit hard Thursday by a winter storm that brought snow, rain, and wind gusts in excess of 50 mph, resulting in downed trees and power lines.  So it’s no suprise that this half of Token Sports has been without power since Thursday night.  In fact, over 260,000 people in New Hampshire, my home state, were without power.

Let me help also put this into perspective.  On Friday, I witnessed the following weather events:

  • Heavy rain
  • Heavy snow
  • Light snow
  • Sleet
  • Hail
  • Extreme winds, in excess of 50 mph
  • Cloudy skies
  • Sunny skies

As we say up here: If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.

So please excuse the lack of posts by somebody other than Alex for the next few days as we wait for power to be restored.

And, in a side note that we don’t usually do here on TS, in light of the recent 8.8 magnitude earthquake, we are reminded to give what we can to Chile, as well as Haiti as the rainy season heats up for them.  There are always people who could use our help.  Let’s be generous.
