That Was Quick! PGA Tour Season Tees off Today

Just like that, the 2011 PGA Tour campaign starts off with the winners only Hyundai Tournament of Champions from Hawaii. Beautiful course, beautiful views, and lots of beautiful women walking outside the ropes (makes the golf broadcast a lot better, especially if you have HD). Anyways, here’s the featured groups and tee times (add 5 hours from Hawaiian to eastern time):

Tee time Players
4:50 p.m. ET
No. 1
Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson
Two of the New Breed stars, both coming off years in which they won TOUR events. Watson should have big advantage this week with his length.
5:10 p.m. ET
No. 1
Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell
This is our
featured group for the opening round. This duo will meet for the first time since their deciding Singles match at the 2010 Ryder Cup.
5:20 p.m. ET
No. 1
Justin Rose, Zach Johnson
Neither player is long off the tee, but both are crafty. Rose comes off a season in which he won twice.
5:30 p.m. ET
No. 1
Jason Day, Ernie Els
Els is an early favorite for the 2011 FedExCup, and there are 500 points on the line this week at the Plantation Course.
5:50 p.m. ET
No. 1
Matt Kuchar, Charley Hoffman
Almost every time he teed it up in 2010, Matt Kuchar surged to the top of the leaderboard. It’ll be interesting to see how he backs up a career year.

Coverage starts at 3:30 eastern on the Golf Channel.
