Tiger Chooses Frys.com Open As Last PGA Tour Event of 2011

In random news, Tiger Woods has decided to tee it up in Northern Cali for the Frys.com Open, which is part of the PGA Tour’s Fall Series. The Fry’s isn’t the most well-known event, but some off the course business ties and a love of the State of California helped make Tiger’s decision on when to play:

“Obviously, we are very excited Tiger has decided to play in our event,” said Kathy Kolder, Frys.com Open Tournament Chairperson and Executive Vice President of Fry’s Electronics. “The boost in marquee value he brings will not only help the tournament and increase the tournament’s economic impact in San Jose, but it will also help us raise more funds for participating charities.”


Well, he should be able to make the cut and make some birdies on this second-tier venue. Then again, we never know what good (or bad) golf Tiger is capable of…
